Haeundae Sky Capsule vs Beach Train is not really a choice between two versions of the same ride.
The Sky Capsule is a slow coastal capsule booked for your own group, while the Beach Train is a shared sightseeing train that continues farther along the coast and works much better for multiple stops.
For most first-time visitors, the choice is simple:
Choose the Sky Capsule if the private coastal ride itself is one of the experiences you want.
Choose the Beach Train if price, more stops and itinerary flexibility matter more.
Choose both if you want the Sky Capsule experience in one direction and the Beach Train for the return — but do the math before automatically buying the package.

Haeundae Sky Capsule vs Beach Train 2026 Prices
Haeundae Blueline Park revised its fare system from May 1, 2026.
The current main fare page lists the standard Sky Capsule prices as:
| Sky Capsule | Current Standard Fare |
|---|---|
| 2 passengers | ₩50,000 per capsule |
| 3 passengers | ₩55,000 per capsule |
| 4 passengers | ₩60,000 per capsule |
That works out to approximately:
- ₩25,000 per person for two travelers
- ₩18,300 per person for three travelers
- ₩15,000 per person for four travelers
The important point is that Sky Capsule pricing becomes much more attractive per person as you fill the capsule.
Why You May Still See Lower Sky Capsule Prices Online
There is an unusual issue in 2026.
Some older Blueline Park subpages and older travel guides can still display previous Sky Capsule prices.
For current pricing, use the park’s live main fare page together with its May 1, 2026 fare-revision notice rather than relying on an older subpage.
2026 Beach Train Prices
The current standard Beach Train fares are:
| Ticket | Current Fare |
|---|---|
| One ride from Mipo or Songjeong | ₩10,000 per person |
| One ride from Cheongsapo or an intermediate station | ₩8,000 per person |
| Two rides | ₩14,000 per person |
| All-stops ticket | ₩16,000 per person |
A one-ride ticket does not allow re-boarding after you get off.
A two-ride ticket allows two boardings.
The all-stops ticket allows one boarding at each station, but you cannot board twice at the same station.
That distinction matters more than the relatively small difference between the ticket prices.
If you only need to get from Cheongsapo back to Mipo after riding the Sky Capsule, you probably do not need an all-stops ticket.
Sky Capsule + Beach Train Package Prices
The current package combines:
one-way Sky Capsule + all-stops Beach Train
Current package prices are:
| Group Size | Package Price |
|---|---|
| 2 people | ₩73,000 |
| 3 people | ₩92,000 |
| 4 people | ₩111,000 |
The package is discounted compared with purchasing a Sky Capsule and all-stops Beach Train tickets separately.
But it is not automatically the cheapest option for every itinerary.
The ₩66,000 Example Couples Should Understand
Suppose two travelers do this:
Mipo → Cheongsapo: Sky Capsule
Current 2-person capsule:
₩50,000
Then:
Cheongsapo → Mipo: one Beach Train ride
₩8,000 × 2:
₩16,000
Total:
₩66,000
The current two-person package costs ₩73,000.
So this simple out-and-back combination is ₩7,000 cheaper.
Why?
Because the package includes the more flexible all-stops Beach Train benefit, while the ₩66,000 plan buys only the single return ride you actually need.
Choose the package when you genuinely want multiple Beach Train stops.
Do not choose it automatically because the word “package” sounds cheaper.
Which Is Better: Sky Capsule or Beach Train?
Choose Sky Capsule If the Ride Itself Is the Point
The Sky Capsule runs along the 2.0 km coastal section between Mipo and Cheongsapo.
The official route information lists an average speed of about 4 km/h and a one-way ride of roughly 30 minutes.
That slow pace is the point.
It is better suited to travelers who want to:
- make the coastal ride one of the day’s main experiences
- travel with their own booked group
- take photos without being inside a shared sightseeing carriage
- spend around 30 minutes simply enjoying the coastline

The main trade-off is price.
For two travelers, the current capsule costs ₩50,000.
The price becomes easier to justify per person as your group gets larger.
Choose Beach Train If the Route Matters More
The Beach Train travels farther.
Its 4.8 km route runs through seven stops:
- Mipo
- Dalmaji Tunnel
- Haewol Skywalk
- Cheongsapo
- Daritdol Skywalk
- Gudeokpo
- Songjeong
The official route information lists an average speed of around 15 km/h and approximately 25 minutes for an end-to-end one-way ride.
Unlike the Sky Capsule, it is also useful as actual sightseeing transportation.

The Beach Train does not use assigned seating.
Standing is possible when seats are occupied, and re-boarding at intermediate stations can involve a wait when passenger demand is high.
That makes it much better for route flexibility, but less private and predictable than the capsule.
Mipo or Cheongsapo: Which Direction Should You Book?
The Sky Capsule runs the same Mipo–Cheongsapo coastal section in either direction.
Do not overcomplicate this decision.
Choose the direction that prevents backtracking.
Mipo → Cheongsapo
This is usually the easier route if your Haeundae day starts around:
- Haeundae Beach
- central Haeundae
- the LCT area
- Busan X the Sky
- hotels near Mipo or the eastern end of Haeundae Beach
Ride the Sky Capsule to Cheongsapo, spend time there, then use the Beach Train for the return or continue farther toward Songjeong.
If you are still choosing where to stay, our Best Hotels in Haeundae Busan 2026 guide compares central Haeundae and the Mipo side before you book.
Cheongsapo → Mipo
Choose Cheongsapo as your starting point if your itinerary already puts you there first.
The capsule covers the same coastal section.
The useful question is not which direction is universally more scenic.
It is which direction prevents you from wasting time traveling back to where you already were.
Is the Sky Capsule Better at Sunset?
Late-day Sky Capsule slots are popular for an obvious reason.
Good light can make the coastline particularly attractive.
But do not design your entire itinerary around a promise of a perfect sunset.
Cloud cover, season, weather and the actual position of the sun all change the experience.
A sold-out ideal time is not a reason to destroy an otherwise efficient itinerary.
Use this rule:
Book a time that works for your route first. Optimize the light second.
How Early Should You Book the Sky Capsule?
This is one of the most important current booking rules.
Haeundae Blueline Park currently opens tickets for the Monday-to-Sunday week four weeks later every Tuesday at 7:00 AM Korea time.
A limited number of same-day tickets may also be sold at station ticket offices on a first-come, first-served basis.
The park warns that those can sell out early.
If the Sky Capsule is one of your must-do Busan activities, do not build your itinerary around walk-up availability.
Reserve it.
Your Sky Capsule Time Is an Entry Window
The time printed on a Sky Capsule reservation is an entry window, not a guaranteed departure or arrival time.
For example, if your reservation is 11:00–11:30, you may enter during that window, wait and then board sequentially.
Actual boarding can be delayed by weekends, holidays, inspections and other operating conditions.
The official guidance also warns that travelers arriving more than 30 minutes after their reservation time may be restricted from boarding, without a refund.
Do not schedule a tightly timed restaurant reservation, train departure or other fixed booking immediately after the Sky Capsule.
What About Beach Train Reservation Times?
For the Beach Train, your reservation time is the first boarding time.
Boarding closes 10 minutes before departure, so arrive beforehand.
At Cheongsapo and intermediate stations, boarding can operate on a first-come, first-served basis, and re-boarding waits can increase when passenger numbers are high.
That is another reason the Beach Train works well for flexible sightseeing but poorly for an itinerary with several tightly timed reservations.
Cancellation and Changes
Blueline Park does not allow you to simply change a completed reservation to a different date or time.
If your plan changes, you need to cancel and make a new booking, subject to availability.
The current official refund schedule is:
- 100% refund when cancelled three days before boarding
- 80% refund two days before
- 70% refund one day before
- 50% refund on the boarding date before the boarding time
- no refund after the applicable boarding time has passed
Third-party ticket sellers can use different cancellation conditions.
Read the exact terms attached to the ticket you are buying.
Official Website, Klook or Trip.com?
Haeundae Blueline Park currently lists both Klook and Trip.com among its official ticket vendors.
Use the official Blueline Park website as the main reference for:
- current standard fares
- route information
- operating rules
- reservation-release timing
Then compare authorized sellers if their checkout, availability or language support is more convenient for your trip.
Seller-specific cancellation, redemption and availability rules can differ.

Can You Use Visit Busan Pass?
Yes — and this can materially change what you should buy.
The current Visit Busan Pass attraction benefit provides the Haeundae Beach Train all-stops ticket.
It specifically states that Sky Capsule is not included.
The normal published value of that all-stops Beach Train ticket is currently ₩16,000.
So if Visit Busan Pass already fits the rest of your itinerary:
- use the included Beach Train benefit
- buy Sky Capsule separately only if you genuinely want the capsule experience
Do not buy another Beach Train ticket or package before checking what your pass already covers.
Our Visit Busan Pass 2026 guide compares BIG3, BIG5, 24H and 48H before you decide whether the pass itself makes financial sense.
Best Choice by Traveler Type
Solo Traveler
Start by comparing the Beach Train.
It is priced per person.
The current public Sky Capsule fare table is structured around 2-, 3- and 4-person capsule pricing rather than a separate one-person fare.
If you are traveling alone and specifically want the capsule experience, confirm the live solo-booking procedure and payable fare before structuring your itinerary around it.
Couple
This is where the decision is hardest.
The Sky Capsule currently costs ₩50,000 for two.
If the private coastal ride is one of the experiences you specifically want, the premium can be worth it.
If you mainly want the scenery and transportation, the Beach Train costs far less.
For many couples, one-way Sky Capsule + one Beach Train ride back is the cleanest balance.
Three Travelers
At ₩55,000 for the capsule, the published price works out to roughly ₩18,300 each.
That narrows the per-person price gap substantially.
If all three people want the Sky Capsule experience, price becomes less of a reason to skip it.
Four Travelers
A four-person Sky Capsule currently costs ₩60,000.
That works out to:
₩15,000 per person.
For comparison, the Beach Train all-stops ticket is currently ₩16,000 per person.
The products still do completely different things, but for a group of four the Sky Capsule’s per-person cost is no longer the obvious disadvantage.
Should You Ride Both?
For many first-time visitors, yes.
Just give each product a different job.
A simple route is:
Mipo → Cheongsapo by Sky Capsule
Explore Cheongsapo.
Then:
Cheongsapo → Mipo by Beach Train
That gives you the slower private coastal experience once and the cheaper shared return.
If you want to continue through several Beach Train stops or toward Songjeong, the all-stops ticket or package becomes more useful.
If you only need one ride back to Mipo, calculate the separate one-ride fare first.
Operating Hours Change by Season
Do not memorize one closing time for the entire year.
The park operates different seasonal schedules, and hours can change because of passenger volume or safety requirements.
Following the May 1, 2026 adjustment:
- Beach Train first departures from Mipo and Songjeong begin at 9:00 AM
- Sky Capsule first-entry windows from Mipo and Cheongsapo begin at 8:30 AM
Check the current operating-hours page for your exact date, especially if you are planning an early morning or late evening ride.
What If It Rains?
Blueline Park currently states that normal operation continues on rainy days.
Severe conditions are different.
Operations may stop because of natural disasters or dangerous weather such as heavy rain or a typhoon.
Light rain therefore does not automatically mean your booking is cancelled.
If severe weather is forecast, check the latest operating notice before crossing Busan for the ride.
My Booking Rule
Use this order:
- Decide whether the Sky Capsule experience itself matters to you.
- If yes, choose Mipo or Cheongsapo based on your itinerary.
- Reserve the Sky Capsule before building the rest of the route around it.
- Decide whether you need one Beach Train ride, two rides or multiple stops.
- Compare separate tickets with the package.
- If you have Visit Busan Pass, check its included Beach Train benefit before paying twice.
- Compare official, Klook and Trip.com conditions for the exact ticket.
- Leave time around your reservation instead of building tight connections.
Final Verdict: Sky Capsule, Beach Train or Both?
Choose Sky Capsule if the slow coastal ride itself is one of the experiences you want in Haeundae.
It costs more for couples, but its per-person value improves significantly for groups of three or four.
Choose Beach Train if price, multiple stops, Songjeong access and flexible sightseeing matter more.
It travels farther and offers ticket types designed for very different itineraries.
For many first-time couples and small groups, one-way Sky Capsule plus a Beach Train return is the strongest combination.
But calculate before buying the package.
For two people, the simple Sky Capsule + one Beach Train return example currently totals ₩66,000, compared with the ₩73,000 package.
The package earns its extra value when you actually use the all-stops Beach Train flexibility.
And if you already have Visit Busan Pass, remember the most important distinction:
Beach Train is included under the current attraction benefit. Sky Capsule is separate.
That one detail can prevent you from buying the wrong bundle.
